Course Description: Drawing: Abstract Simplified

Let's get creative! In this playful class, you'll learn to see everyday objects in a whole new way. Abstract drawing isn't about making things look "real", it's about capturing their energy, shape and spirit. Using colored pencils, crayons, watercolors and ink, you'll experiment, loosen up and discover your own unique style. No experience needed. Just bring something simple you'd love to transform, like a shoe, flower or pair of sunglasses. We'll provide all the rest!

Additional Course Information

Students will abstract a common object using a variety of mediums-colored pencils, crayons, watercolors and ink. Students need to bring a simple object to class such as a shoe, pencil, flower, ball, glove, etc. All other materials provided.

Bill Lewis

Biography: Bill Lewis is a professional artist and retired art instructor with over forty years of experience in the public and community education systems in Oregon and Washington.

He teaches drawing, watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, abstract, non-objective painting, design as well as craft classes in metal tooling, stained glass, mixed-media collage, print-making, leather tooling, jewelry, macram�, ceramics, and sculpture.

In addition to his classes for COCC, he also teaches at several retirement facilities in Bend and provides private instruction.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
