Course Description: Photography 102: File Management and Lightroom Editing

Learn digital photo file management and basic Adobe Lightroom editing skills and techniques. Professional photographer Steve Giardini will teach you how to create a commonsense file management strategy to keep thousands of photo files organized and retrievable. Using Adobe Lightroom software, you will also learn basic photo editing skills to transform acceptable digital photos into stellar images. Students must possess an Adobe Lightroom software subscription or be willing to secure a free 7-day trial subscription. Using a personal laptop computer or tablet with wi-fi capability is recommended. Loaner computers will be available for in-classroom use only. Geared toward beginner and intermediate students. No field session is scheduled. Photography 101 recommended.

Additional Course Information

Required Camera Equipment: Students must have a digital camera. A camera with a detachable lens is preferred but not required. Cell phones are not allowed. The camera must have a rechargeable battery and a file storage card. A tripod is recommended.

Biography: Steve J. Giardini is a Bend-based professional outdoor photographer with over a decade of experience. Steve is an artist, educator, speaker, and photo workshop instructor. In addition to photography, his is resume includes 25+ years of community college teaching experience on a variety of subjects. Steve's photographs have been published in local, national and international magazines, and prints of his photos are on display in homes, businesses and art galleries around Oregon. Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
