Course Description: Write Like A Dog: A New Point of View

This workshop is a unique opportunity to take the perspective of animals rather than humans, using a dog as your muse. Understanding a dog's point of view requires empathy and research. Through writing exercises, discussion of real world experiences, and readings written from a dog's perspective, you will explore the writing process and gain a better understanding of writing from another point of view entirely not your own. This course is perfect for any genre and level of writing.

Debra Merskin

Biography: Deb Merskin has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years. Her 200 hour RYT was with Sarah Joy Marsh in Portland. She has a 40 hour Ashtanga teaching certification from David Swenson, 100 hour asnusara yoga immersion, and most recently, a 100 hour advanced teacher training with Brandy Berlin, owner of Namaspa in Bend and Redmond. She currently teaches yoga at Brasada Ranch. In addition to Yoga, Deb has a background in dance, aerobics, and enjoys hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. She recently moved to Central Oregon from Eugene where she taught yoga at the Downtown Athletic Club and at Eugene Yoga.

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
