Course Description: Introduction to Guitar

Learn Fundamental Skills in this introduction to guitar basics. Learn how to read chord charts and tablature, play single note melodies, basic rock and blues techniques, chords, and strumming. Designed for students with no prior guitar experience or those that want a refresher on the basics. Establish a foundation of skills in a supportive group environment, reinforced with home practice.

Biography: Meet Aaron Elston, the go-to guitar guru! With 24 years of experience on the guitar and 15 years instructing, his teaching approach will have you playing in no time.Aaron began playing guitar at 12, but his true musical journey started while earning a degree in Commercial Music from South Plains College, in Levelland, TX. After leading several bands and rocking countless stages, his true calling became obvious. Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
