Course Description: Photography 103: Landscape Composition and Advanced Editing

Join professional outdoor photographer Steve J. Giardini and learn how to create dynamic landscape photographs and edit them like a pro. The course covers photo composition theory and field practice. The course also includes advanced photo file editing techniques and skills. Students must possess an Adobe Lightroom software subscription or be willing to secure a free 7-day trial subscription. An Adobe Photoshop subscription is optional. Using a personal laptop computer or tablet with wi-fi capability is recommended. Loaner computers will be available for in-classroom use only. Geared toward intermediate level students. Field session is schedule for 11/16 at Smith Rock State Park, Terrebonne. Students are responsible to self-transport to the field session. Photography 101 and 102 required. Contact instructor for waiver/approval.

Schedule: Classroom Sessions are: Thursday and Tuesday, 11/12, 11/14, and 11/19, from 5-7:30 pm, at COCC's Chandler Lab, room 207, 1027 NW Trenton Avenue. Field session is 11/16, 8-10:30 am, Smith Rock State Park, Terrebonne. Students must self-transport to the field session.

Additional Course Information

Field session will take place on 11/16, from 8-10:30am, at Smith Rock State Park. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the field session, and any parking fees associated. Instructor will provide specific meeting details in class prior to the field session.

Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash.
