Biography: Cat Finney is a long-time employee of Central Oregon Community College. She is currently the Associate Librarian for Collections and Acquisitions at Barber Library. A lifetime avid backpacker and hiker, Cat Finney was 59 years old when she hiked about 300 miles of the Oregon PCT in 2020. At 60 she went "ultra-light" and completed 1300 miles of the California PCT in 2021, and finished up about 300 miles of the Sierra PCT in 2022. Ultralight gear and mindset can make a huge difference in backpacking joy for everyone--but especially for folks in their middle years! Cat will finish the PCT this summer (concentrating on the WA portion of the trail) and intends to hike the Appalachian trail once she retires. Her secret goal? Completing the Triple Crown by age 70.
