Instructor: Erika McCalpine

Biography: Erika McCalpine is the Associate Dean for Career Technical Education and Workforce Development for Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, AL. Before returning to Alabama, Erika was the Chief Equity Officer for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Erika has also served as faculty at Oregon State University-Cascades and her beloved alma mater, the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). Erika earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama in Business Management and her master's in Management with concentrations in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from the same institution. Erika devoted almost ten years of her career to teaching in academia, but has transferred to administrative roles. With that transition, Erika still has a strong desire to share her knowledge and experience, so she teaches psychology courses online. Erika is a Society of Human Resource Management -Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). When Erika has spare time, she enjoys binge-watching good television shows and spending time with family.

HR Certification Prep: SHRM CP and SCP Exam Prep

This course equips HR professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to pass the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification exams which are recognized as one of the global standards in certification for the HR professional. Demonstrate your value as a Human Resource Professional by seeking certification as a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). The course covers the full SHRM framework including HR strategy, talent management, employee engagement, workplace culture and employment law, and in preparation to take the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam. This course is for experienced HR professionals and is not an entryway to the HR profession. There is a SHRM member course fee and a non-member course fee option.
