Susan Stafford
Biography: Listening to people's stories has been a life-long interest for Susan Stafford, from tales of her pioneer ancestors who braved the harshness of the Oregon Trail for the promise of land and frontier freedom, to her private practice counseling clients who were looking to find themselves or make changes in their lives. Her grandfather's diary of a summer spent in the Oregon Cascades as a young man pursuing adventure in the wilderness sparked her interest in writing down family stories and personal memoir. Now making her way as a freelance writer for two local newspapers, she has multiple opportunities to hear and record people's stories. In her Guided Autobiography class - Write It Down - students will have the opportunity to explore their own personal histories and those experiences that helped shape who they have become. With ample writing prompts, tips for clearer and more interesting story telling, and weekly guides to help structure your autobiography, by the end of 10 weeks, you will have a good beginning on your own life's story.
