Robin Smith-Jackson
Biography: Robin is a third-generation professional musician and vocalist, songwriter, and teacher. She has performed in Martha's Vineyard, Spokane, Portland, and Bend. For most of her adult life, she worked to bring music into children's lives through cultural arts camps, community-based classes, and public and private schools. She has been teaching for COCC Continuing Education since 2016.

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences, she earned an Associate of Arts degree in Commercial Music and Jazz Studies and then went on to earn a Master's degree in Teaching from Gonzaga University. After teaching a variety of music subject areas and instruments, she says she has "come home" to the Suzuki method for guitar. She has adapted this method for different age groups. She uses the principles when teaching jazz or folk as well as classical guitar.

Robin is dedicated to the development of musical ability in her students and wholeheartedly endorses the Suzuki method and philosophy in helping each of her students become successful. As a credentialed Suzuki teacher, she is proud to be a part of growing arts education in the Central Oregon area, and to promote the guitar as an instrument of depth and beauty that is affordable, accessible, and above all joyous for all who endeavor to play.

She is wife to Jason Jackson, a wonderful musician, and her best friend. They have three beautiful daughters whom they have home-schooled for almost ten years in Bend, Oregon.
