Joseph Falletta
Biography: Joe Falletta has been playing 5-string banjo in a variety of styles since the early 1960s, when he began playing Folk songs of that era by The Weavers and The Kingston Trio. In the 1970s he moved into Bluegrass and Newgrass (a style of music in which Rock, Blues, Jazz, and more are played on Bluegrass instruments) in a number of bands in San Diego, CA. Later he started playing Clawhammer banjo as well as Jazz standards such as Take 5, The Autumn Leaves, and Take the A Train. He presently sings and plays banjo and mandolin with the Opal Springs Boys, an eclectic band out of Crooked River Ranch playing rock, folk-rock, country, blues, and bluegrass.
