Biography: Wendy Larson began her backpacking career at the age of 55, after deciding to no longer postpone her lifelong dream of long-distance hiking. It became her new passion, and with that has developed a strong desire to share the benefits and rewards of her over 4000 miles of experiences, along with her passion for the outdoors and caring for the environment (leave-no-trace principles) and protecting and loving all God's critters. Wendy was born and raised in New Jersey, attended university in New Hampshire, and then made her first solo adventure to Alaska, where she met her husband, who is a native Oregonian. They moved to Bend in 1990, where they raised their two children.
