Rodney Hanson
Biography: Rod Hanson has spent 47 years teaching Government, Law, History, and the Constitution at Redmond High School, COCC and now for Community Education. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts History and Mathematics from Fresno State University in 1974; a Masters of Education and Teaching Credential, from Westmont College in 1975, and a Masters of Political Science: Constitutional Law, from American Military University in 2011. He and his wife of 45 years, Leslie, have lived in Bend since 1978 and have three children, and four grandchildren. He loves Dodger baseball, the Constitution, collecting and fixing up pinball machines from the 1940's and 1950's, gardening, cats, and hanging out with family.

This class will offer an exciting lecture and discussion-based interaction with American presidential elections. We will discuss how presidential elections are set up by the United States Constitution; a history of some of the most famous presidential elections in American history; look at the current 2024 presidential election; and analyze any future possible changes in electing the president. This will be all done in a friendly, lively, and politically neutral atmosphere!

This six-week lecture/discussion class will provide an in-depth analysis of the history of the Supreme Court from a constitutional perspective. The class will offer development of the United States Supreme Court, how the Court operates, and a detailed discussion of the great cases in Supreme Court history.
