Course Description: Coding with Python: The Fundamentals

Curious about coding but not sure where to start? This two-session workshop introduces the core ideas behind every programming language using Python, one of the world's most popular and beginner-friendly languages. Python's clean, readable style lets you focus on learning to think like a programmer instead of wrestling with complicated syntax. You'll write and run real Python code from the very first session in a supportive, low-pressure setting (no experience required), and leave with a solid foundation for future coding classes or projects of your own.
Why Python?
  • It's one of the most common first languages in college intro programming courses.
  • The core concepts (variables, logic, loops, functions) transfer directly to other languages like JavaScript, Java, and C#.
  • It's used across industries for data analysis, automation, web development, science, and AI.
  • It reads almost like plain English, so beginners get to real results quickly.
