Course Detail: Snowshoeing the Cascades
Snowshoe across meadows and through forests to shelters or snowy mountain vistas. Learn about the wildlife, cultural and natural history of our beautiful Central Oregon Cascades. Build confidence to prepare for and plan your own local snowshoe outings with an appreciation for safety, gear and low environmental impact. Each snowshoe session will cover a distance of approximately four to five miles--moderate physical fitness needed but no snowshoeing experience required. Return times vary. Rain, snow or shine. Registered students will receive information regarding equipment and preparation prior to the first field session. Field sessions depart from the Chandler Lab Parking Lot (transportation not included).
