Course Description: Radio DJ - Adult Orientation Session

Located in Bend, Oregon, KPOV, 88.9 FM is High Desert Community Radio. Now celebrating 20 years, KPOV is a non-commercial, community-focused non-profit radio station by the people and for the people of Central Oregon. 

Interested in going 'on-air' or learning about what DJ's do? In this hands-on course, learn the fundamentals of radio programming, including running the mixer and mics, planning for music/talk shows, and developing your own style. 

Classes are open to all, but due to severely limited space, participants should have a genuine interest in becoming a radio show host or content producer with KPOV. All students must attend the first lecture session on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:30 am, followed by multiple studio sessions at KPOV studios.

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
