Course Detail: Pet Partners Handler's Course
You and your pet can bring unconditional love and proven psychological and medical benefits to others. Pet Partners Therapy Animal Program is a great way to volunteer with your pet for visiting animal programs. This workshop will provide you with the skills needed to take the next step towards visiting with your pet in hospitals, nursing homes, classrooms and other facilities. You will learn the requirements to pass the Pet Partners Team Evaluation, how to tell if both you and your animal are a good fit for Pet Partners, how to prepare yourself and your animal for visits, special needs of specific client groups, facility health and safety codes, and patient confidentiality. Required text included in class price. This class is for the human end of the leash. Do not bring your pet to class. For more information on becoming a handler, visit https://petpartners.org/volunteer/become-a-handler/. Pet Partner Team Evaluations offered on an ongoing basis.
