This two (2) day course is designed to familiarizethe shooter with the red dot sight (RDS) platformand its benefits. The red dot sight has becomemore prolific on duty handguns in recent years,with more agencies authorizing them for duty use.Topics of instruction include red dot sightfeatures and duty considerations, zeroingprocedures, use of back-up iron sights (BUIS),weapon manipulation, parallax and occluded optics,unorthodox/alternate aiming techniques, low lighttechniques with RDS and shooting drills to assistin the successful transition from iron sights tothe red dot sight platform.NOTE: All Firearms Courses at the Camden CountyCollege Police Academy require participation inphysical activities such as light running,sit-ups, push-up, etc. Registration is limited tostudents capable of full participation.BDUs or Class B uniforms are appropriate.
