This ADVANCED (NOT A BASIC COURSE OR REMEDIAL)five (5) day course is designed for patrolofficers and other first responders. This is nota remedial basic class for officers. Survivaltechniques will focus on car stops, hostagenegotiations, domestic terrorism, street gangconfrontations, deranged persons, armed robberyresponse, and other high-risk situations patrolofficers may encounter. Weapon retention,handcuffing, and defensive tactics will also beincluded along with tactical firearms instructionincluding the use of service weapons andshotguns.NOTE*: All Firearms Courses at the Camden CountyCollege Police Academy require participation inphysical activities such as light running,sit-ups, push-ups, etc. Registration is limitedto students capable of full participation. Thereis a defensive tactics portion to this course. Attendees must be in good physical condition.EQUIPMENT: Eye and ear protection, ballisticvest, department issued handgun, duty belt andholster, 350 rounds of handgun ammunition, 50rounds of shotgun ammunition.BDUs or Class B uniform with duty belt.
