Course Detail: CE.TRD-170 - Plumbing Apprentice - Level I Through IV
This is a four-year apprenticeship program with 156 classroom hours scheduled per year. Students must re-register each year. Students seeking an apprenticeship in the Plumbing trade must be employed by a Certified Master Plumber.
Note: NJ State Law mandates that students seeking to take the Master Plumber Certification Exam must first complete an apprenticeship program.
Topics covered during classroom instruction include related science, trade mathematics, blueprint reading, tools and safety, plumbing technology, estimating, and sketching. Theapprentice program is a partnership between the labor industry and education. To qualify for enrollment as an apprentice, the student must be employed full-time in their chosen field. Apprentices MUST be registered with the US Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, and with the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Registering for adult education programs DOES NOT automatically enroll students as apprentices. Employers (sponsors) must contact the Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Technical Institute of Camden County to facilitate the registration process. All registered apprentices who complete the on-the-job and related training requirements are eligible to receive Certificates of Completion from both the U.S. Department of Labor and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
