Course Detail: CE.TRD-190 - HVAC Apprentice - Levels 1-4
This is a four-year program with 156 classroom hours scheduled per year. Students need to re-register each year. Topics covered during classroom instruction include basic theory and fundamentals, safety, trade math, blueprint reading, motors and controls, advanced theory, compressors, condensers, evaporators and refrigerants (CFC Certification), and troubleshooting and repair. The apprentice program is a partnership between the labor industry and education. To qualify for enrollment as an apprentice, the student must be employed full-time in their chosen field. Apprentices MUST be registered with the US Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, and with the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Registering for adult education programs DOES NOT automatically enroll students as apprentices. Employers (sponsors) must contact the Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Technical Institute of Camden County to facilitate the registration process. All registered apprentices who complete the on-the-job and related training requirements are eligible to receive Certificates of Completion from both the U.S. Department of Labor and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
