The American Red Cross Emergency Response courseis to provide the participant with the knowledgeand skills that are necessary as a firstresponder in any emergency to help sustain life, reducepain, and minimize the consequences of injury orsudden illness until more advanced medical helpcan arrive. The course content and activities aredesigned to help the participants make theappropriate decisions about the care they willrender in an emergency. The skills learned inthis course enable the first responder to act asa crucial link in the emergency medical services(EMS) system. This course is restricted toPolice Academy Recruits only.
