This five (5) day course is designed to providedetectives with the fundamental investigativeskills necessary for successful investigation of ahomicide, suspicious death, or case ofunidentified human remains (UHR). Participantswill receive instruction on the role andresponsibilities of the homicide investigator,investigative decision-making, death notification,neighborhood canvasses, forensic DNA analysis,proper video recovery techniques, digitalforensics, interviewing of suspects and witnesses,courtroom testimony, and working with the MedicalExaminer's Office and Crime Scene Unit. Participants will learn from instructors with theFBI, the NJSP Office of Forensic Sciences, theMedical Examiner's Office, and the Camden CountyProsecutor's Office Homicide Unit.
