This one (1) day course is designed to introduce law enforcement professionals to basic concepts involving media relations and public affairs. The course will focus on understanding the Pubic Information Officer's (PIO) role and its duties, such as writing press releases, responding to media inquiries, and developing positive relationships with the news media in order to keep the public safe and informed. This course is designed for law enforcement supervisors and the professionals tasked with interacting with the news media on a regular basis.
