This one (1) day course is designed to provideinstruction on how to recognize and identify gangmembers and their insignia, ways to developsources of information about gang activitieswithin the community and through social mediainvestigative techniques, strategies forsuppressing gang activity and multi-jurisdictionapproaches to gang investigations. Course topicsmay include Basic Gang Awareness: Recognition,Identification, and Documentation; cultivation ofgang member informants and interviewing gangmembers; gang suppression strategies and socialmedia investigations. NOTE: This class is designedprimarily for sworn officers and analysts assignedto work with street gangs or for other lawenforcement officers who encounter gangs on thestreet.
