This one (1) day course will address the ongoingissue of suicide involving law enforcementpersonnel. The overall goal of the course willbe to overcome past stigmas regarding suicide andmental illness involving officers and to informlaw enforcement agencies about the prevalence ofsuicide in law enforcement, contributing factorsthat lead to suicide, and provide theparticipating agencies with resources for suicideprevention. There will also be contributionsfrom the worlds of psychology and religion ontheir perspective of this topic and their sharingin our ultimate goal of preventing police suicide.
