This three (3) day course is designed formunicipal detectives or those officers assignedto County Narcotics Task Forces. The attendee,upon completion of the course, will demonstrate abasic understanding and recognition of narcotics,how they are packaged for distribution, and howthey may be field-tested. The attendee will alsoacquire the knowledge of the proper handling ofevidence as well as the procedures for submittingnarcotics evidence to the New Jersey State PoliceLaboratory. In addition, the student will alsohave an understanding of the New Jersey drug lawsas well as the most recent "Search and Seizure"rulings. Most importantly, the attendees will beguided, step by step, from the initial phases ofnarcotics investigations through the finalpreparations for court testimony. This willinclude the cultivation and utilization ofinformants, undercover operations, preparation ofsearch warrant affidavits, and effectivetechniques for the execution of search warrants.
