This two (2) day course is designed to identifycritical incident criteria, address factors whichcontribute to surviving critical incidents, andgain understanding of post-traumatic stressdisorders. It will also prepare police personnelto survive traumatic events by developing awinning attitude that will guide them through acrisis. Many officers are killed or seriouslyinjured each year and there is often no way thetragedy could have been avoided. In a crisis,victims focus on their vulnerability andsurvivors focus on their ability to respond. Since behavior in a crisis can never be predictedwith certainty, it is imperative that policeofficers be educated and trained as to how toadopt a surviving attitude so that they can win,even against incredible odds.
