This one (1) day course is designed to emphasize the critical importance of the need for police officers to change their mindset towards report writing. Two approaches to effective writing are examined in this course. The first most important component is WHY, and the second is HOW. This is not a remedial English Composition class because we recognize that you are a professional police officer. The goal of the class is for you to utilize the training and education that you already have had, refine your approach to what has been perceived as a mundane task, develop new skills toward gathering information, and begin writing reports that allow the reader to see what you, the writer, has seen in a coherent, sequential, accurate and complete way.
