Course Detail: CE.FAC-217 - Improving Fireground Accountability
(Improving Fireground Accountability Before Things Go Wrong)This course examines fireground accountability before failure occurs, focusing on the operational, human factor, and command level issues that routinely precede firefighter injuries, Line of Duty Deaths (LODDs), and civil litigation. Using nationally recognized standards, real world LODD investigations, and recent legal cases, students will identify why accountability systems fail, how warning signs are often ignored, and what actions Incident Commanders, officers, and firefighters must take to prevent catastrophic outcomes. The program emphasizes practical accountability principles that apply regardless of department size, staffing model, or technology, making it relevant to both volunteer and career organizations. Two Offerings: 6/24/26-Classroom 6/25/26-Online / Virtual (ZOOM)
