This course provides firefighters with practical knowledge and hands-on experience using thermal imaging cameras (TICs) in emergency operations. Students will learn how thermal imaging works, its capabilities and limitations, and how to apply TICs effectively for size-up, search and rescue, fire attack, overhaul, and scene safety. Hands-on training will be limited to the practical use and operation of the cameras, with an emphasis on improving situational awareness, decision-making, and firefighter safety. No Fire Suppression efforts will take place in this class, but please bring full PPE. Pre-Requisite NJ DFS CERTIFIED FIREFIGHTER I OR FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBER
