A large area search is a search where a team isentering a fire building to do a primary orsecondary search under arduous conditions becauseof a known life hazard. This type of search isused in a building that does not require awide-open-area search or a patterned search.Instead, this type of search uses the rope tosecure and control an exit point from the firearea. Building types include office buildings,apartment houses with long hallways or stores withaisles that have stock and merchandise in place.This class will teach and demonstrate differentways on how to effectively accomplish a large areasearch task.
