Course Detail: CE.FAC-053 - Nj ST Drill Ground Instructor
This New Jersey Division of Fire Safety course isdesigned to ensure that Fire Service Instructorsknow and understand the safety issues inherent ineach of the subject areas of firefighter training.Instructors must be capable of demonstrating theproper methods of identifying and correcting anunsafe situation as it occurs. Instructors mustalso demonstrate a knowledge of equipment andapparatus maintenance and safety procedures sincewell-maintained equipment is necessary to do thejob safely and effectively. This course isrequired for those fire service instructors thatwish to teach specified modules in the FirefighterI course in the State of New Jersey. This coursewill provide the Instructors with a basicunderstanding of live burn and SCBA / Smoke Houseinstructional safety concerns for Fire ServiceInstructor activities and student performance. Itwill include: a) General safety concerns, b) Areview of the training approach, c) Terminologyrelated to live burn and SCBA/Smokehouse safety,d) Preparation and presentation parameters, e) Thestudents control process, f) Safety assessment ofevolutions. Successful completion of this programwill allow the student to meet one of therequirements for New Jersey Division of FireSafety Instructor certification. Pre-Requisite NJ DFS CERTIFIED Instructor I or II
