This course has been developed to provide thebeginner driver/operator with the basic knowledgeand skills necessary to complete the varied tasksin the emergency response field. Students will betrained to become a proficient driver and pumpoperator. Students will review the legalrequirements, proper maintenance checks and recordkeeping associated with this responsibility.Additional curriculum in basic hydraulics, pumpoperations and vehicle restoration will beexamined. The class will continue with a fieldexercise utilizing the principles reviewed in theclassroom on the safe operator functions.
