This course has been developed to provide theadvance driver/operator with the additionalknowledge and skills necessary to complete thevaried tasks in the emergency response field.Students will be trained to become a defensivedriver and pump operator. Students will review thelegal requirements, proper maintenance checks andrecord keeping associated with thisresponsibility. Additional curriculum in basichydraulics, pump operations and vehiclerestoration will be examined. The class willcontinue with a field exercise utilizing theprinciples reviewed in the classroom on the safeoperator functions.
