Course Detail: WTAU110 - Basic Controls

This hybrid 32-hour course introduces the fundamental principles needed to understand basic control systems. As a result of this training, students will be able to explain fundamental electrical principles, distinguish different inputs and outputs of control systems, build and document a relay-based seal-in circuit using ladder logic principles, and measure AC and DC voltages and currents. This course is the first of six courses that must be completed to earn the VFD & PLC Systems Technician Certificate.

Schedule: This course will be completed at your own pace. Starts 5/1/24 and must be completed by 4/30/25. Online content can be accessed anytime on Canvas. Lab hours will be scheduled directly with the instructors Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm. School closed Fridays 5/16 - 7/26
