Course Detail: WTSN232 - Substation Apprenticeship 3B

This 15-week course meets six times. As a result of this training students will be able to discuss safety protocols regarding overhead distribution and transmission systems; identify how to connect an RL series circuit and calculate its voltage, and calculate the resistance, inductance, and capacitance in resistive-inductive capacitive AC series circuits; describe circuit breaker operation, maintenance, inspections, and tests including the type, function, and safety precautions required, and analysis of time-travel, contact resistance, insulation resistance, power factor, and hi-pot; and describe the properties and identify the required safety guidelines for handling of Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6).
