Dick Rauh
Dick Rauh, Ph.D., received a Gold Medal for his illustrations of dry fruitsand other remnants in the January 2006 Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show in London, where he also earned a Best in Show.

Dick started his career in botanical painting in retirement, after a career in Motion Picture Special Effects. In the 80s, he completed NYBG's certificate program in Botanical Art & Ilustration and started illustration work for a number of scientists.

This led him to pursue a graduate program in Plant Sciences at the City University of New York, ending up with a doctorate in 2001. He received a Gold Medal for his illustrations of dry fruits and other remnants in the January 2006 Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show in London, where he also earned a Best in Show. Two of the painting have recently been included in the Hunt Collection at Carnegie-Mellon University. Other paintings have been included in the Hunt Collection at Carnegie-Mellon University, New York State Museum, and the Lindley Library in London.

As a member of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Florilegium, Dick has been drawing a number of the specimen trees on their grounds as well as in their Bonsai collection. He has been on the board of ASBA for a number of years, and was the past president of the GNSI.
