Flatlay Composition Workshop with Mary Jo Hoffman
Explore the artistry of flatlay composition using found objects in nature. Mary Jo Hoffman, artist and author of STILL: The Art of Noticing will share several techniques for focusing attention and finding compelling subjects beyond the ordinary.
You'll analyze and select your natural objects and create a composition that is unique to you. Then, using natural light and either a smart phone or digital camera, you'll photograph your flatlay creation. You'll receive a hand-bound booklet that details Hoffman's daily routine and the editing tools she uses to achieve her signature white background. She will also make herself available after the workshop to answer detailed Photoshop questions for any interested photographers.
Materials Information:
Please bring your smart phone and/or a digital camera of your choosing. Found materials will be provided by Mary Jo Hoffman but please feel free to bring your own objects to supplement your creation.
