Course Detail: PHLEB - Certified Phlebotomy Technician I
This not-for-credit, in-person, 88-hours program (48 hours lecture and 40 hours externship) is designed to provide instruction and techniques to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I. Participants must complete 50 venipunctures, 10 capillary punctures, and observation of 2 arterial punctures. Upon successful completion of the program, inkling the completion of an approved national written examination, participants will have met California's requirements to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I.
There will be a 15% increase in demand for NEW phlebotomy technicians in the next two years! No previous medical experience is required. This is a great entry into the medical field or to add this skill to advance your medical career. According to Indeed.com the average salary for a Phlebotomist in California is $21.00 to $25.10 an hour with Riverside, San Diego, and Los Angeles counties ranking in the top 10 areas for higher base pay.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and, on the program start date, present proof of high school diploma transcripts, GED, or a foreign transcript translated and evaluated.
