Course detail: Interior Firefighting

This course is designed to prepare students to operate as members of interior fire attack teams. Students will extinguish live fires under controlled conditions in the KF&RTI's interior fire prop. They will advance active hose lines up and down stairs. This course requires strenuous activity; therefore, only firefighters who have been medically evaluated, mask fit tested, and have had their personal protective clothing (including self-contained breathing apparatus) properly fitted by their fire departments will be allowed to participate in the course.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to participate in University of Kansas educational offerings. If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event, please email kufire@ku.edu or call 866-804-8841 at least two weeks before the first day of the event.
