Course detail: KU Machine Learning and AI MicroBootCamp

The Machine Learning and AI MicroBootCamp from the University of Kansas is a 8-to-10-week, part-time program. This self-paced course gives you the specialized experience you need to develop expert-level artificial intelligence and machine learning skills to bring your organization into the future.

This hands-on intensive program is for experienced professionals who are familiar with Python. The MicroBootCamp combines convenient online lessons and application practice with unparalleled support: Learners have access to 24/7 on-demand assistance, attend live weekly office hours to interact with industry experts, get to connect with a network of trainers and peers, and receive access to career resources.

The program is rigorous, fast paced, and covers expert-level AI skills. Students gain in-demand skills and work toward a portfolio of real-world AI projects to showcase to future employers. Those who successfully complete the program receive a Certificate of Completion in Machine Learning & AI from University of Kansas Jayhawk Global.

In the Machine Learning and AI MicroBootCamp, you will:

  • Complete eight modules and learn advanced skills in machine learning and AI.
  • Explore how advances in technology are split between narrow and general AI.
  • Identify the relationships, hidden patterns, and structure within data.
  • Understand how supervised and unsupervised learning differ from one another while training AI models.
  • Classify complex data into linear and nonlinear data.
  • Optimize machine learning through hyperparameters, preprocessing, and testing multiple modules.
  • Discover neural networks and how they relate to deep learning.
  • Practice tasks that include natural language processing, transformers, and tokenization.
  • Cover emerging topics in cutting-edge AI research and technologies.

By the end of this MicroBootCamp, you will be able to:

  • Summarize the current use of AI, its future applications, and its recent innovations.
  • Evaluate machine learning models through test data and metrics.
  • Apply machine learning techniques to solve problems and gain knowledge.
  • Use unsupervised machine learning models to categorize unlabeled data.
  • Use supervised machine learning models trained on labeled data to make predictions.
  • Improve the performance of machine learning models through optimization techniques.
  • Explain neural networks and deep learning models.
  • Use neural networks and deep learning models to make predictions about data.
  • Use natural language processing and transformers to determine the sentiment of vector-coded text.
