Course Detail: ITCC-1014 - CCNA1: Introduction to Networks

This course covers networking architecture, structure, security, and functions; introduces the principles and structure of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations to provide a foundation for the curriculum. Students after successful completion should be able to configure a small network using basic security; perform basic configuration on routers and switches; implement IP addressing schemes. This course is eligible for a TPEG grant and a payment plan.This is a course overlay for Continuing Education. It is a noncredit course. Students will receive either a pass or fail grade instead of credit hours toward a degree plan.Students may choose to take the Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) exam after completing this course and Switching and Wireless Essentials, ITCC-1044-1800 course. These tests can be scheduled through Pearson Vue and taken in our testing center. This class may articulate to our A.A.S. degree in Computer and Network Administration.
