Interested in going 'on-air' or learning about what DJ's do? In this hands-on course, learn the fundamentals of radio programming, including running the mixer and mics, planning for music/talk shows, and developing your own style. Classes are open to all but due to severely limited space and enrollment, participants should have a genuine interest in becoming a DJ, sound producer, or editor for KPOV.

Learn the art of leatherworking at this one-day workshop! You will be able to make two projects: a Cuff Bracelet and choose between a key chain or earrings. Learn how to design, stamp, and paint your leather projects. At the end of the class, you will know the best ways to effectively stamp leather using leather tools, what paints to use to make your designs stand out, how to finish the leather, and how to set rivets. All materials & supplies will be available at the class.

Using a mixture of lecture and hands-on application, your expert instructor will guide you through the importance of using scale and design before building, foundation basics, the components of a typical wall framing system, framing and truss layout, and roof system basics. You'll learn how to safely use construction tools and tricks of the trade for basic construction for homeowners. Great for students who want to learn about home/project-based construction. Tools provided. Students will need to provide their own construction-appropriate gloves.

In the world of golf, so much emphasis is placed on your score, but are you truly enjoying the game of golf? Do a couple of bad shots ruin your day? Do you define your golf identity by your score or handicap? If so, this is the course for you. We will help you improve your golf score by learning to enjoy the game more. The first day takes place in a classroom setting. You will learn techniques to lose attachment to your score, play in the present moment, and become your own mental and emotional caddy on the course. The second day we will be on the golf course, putting what you learned to practice. Stop stressing over shots, and enhance your enjoyment of the game and course while improving your score. Students will be responsible for self-transporting to Widgi Creek Golf Club. Tuition includes all golf fees and balls. Please plan to bring clubs.

Central Oregon is a challenging growing environment, but many medicinal herbs thrive here. This class will explore medicinal garden designs, propagation techniques, and herbs that thrive in this region. We will explore individual herbs and their uses. The class also includes a field trip to Oregon Wild Harvest, a local medicinal herb farm, located in Culver, Oregon. Students are responsible for transportation to the field session.

Amateur Radio (ham radio) is a popular hobby and service that brings people, electronics, and communication together. Before you can get on air, you need to be licensed and understand the rules to operate legally. This course will help you prepare to pass the Ham Radio Licensed Technician test and obtain your license, so you can begin your journey into ham radio. The curriculum is primarily guided self-study and is approved by the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) and the FCC. The class will end at 4 pm with a 45-minute licensing test.

Professional photographer Steve Giardini will teach you how to create a commonsense file management strategy to keep thousands of photo files organized and retrievable. Using Adobe Lightroom software, you will also learn basic photo editing skills to transform acceptable digital photos into stellar images. Students must possess an Adobe Lightroom software subscription or be willing to secure a free 7-day trial subscription. Wondering what medicinal herbs grow in Central Oregon? This class will teach us how to identify and use medicinal plants. We will learn about how to ethically wildcraft herbs, which herbs are poisonous, and how Native People traditionally used plants. This class includes a lecture on local plants and culminates in a trip to Lookout Mountain to identify plants in their native habitat. The hike is moderate 3.0-3.5, with gains between 1,000-1,500 ft in elevation. Students are responsible for their own transportation to field location.

Washington State is a prominent wine-producing region in the United States, being the second-largest wine producer in the US, after California, and known for its diverse range of grape varieties and high-quality wines. This tasting class aims to explore, sip by sip, the top four most produced varieties of wine in Washington State in 2024. Will your next favorite wine be one of Washington's "Big Four"? Come to class and taste the whites and reds from Washington! Taught in a fun and engaging environment that encourages students to be confident in their own personal wine choices. Oregon wine country is incredibly diverse. With growing regions ranging from cool-climate in the Willamette Valley and the ability to grow world-class Pinot Noir, to the hot, dry summers and cooler winters in Southern Oregon. This tasting class aims to explore the Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon by sipping through four different wines, two from each region (white and red), in a fun and engaging environment that encourages students to be confident in their own personal wine choices.
