Course Description: Beautiful Photos: From Start to Finish

Discover how to create beautiful digital photographs from start to finish with professional photographer Steve Giardini! Learn basic camera operations, practice behind your camera, and discover photo editing techniques that will make your photos shine. This class series covers everything you need to know to produce great photos: camera operations and components, camera settings and lens choice, behind-the-camera field techniques, composition principles, basic photo editing skills, and effective photo file storage and retrieval methods. Expect plenty of hands-on practice under expert guidance. Be challenged without being intimidated!.

Class sessions are 5/7, 5/9, and 5/14, 5-7:30 pm at COCC's Chandler Lab room 207, 1027 NW Trenton Avenue, Bend. The field session is on 5/11, 5-8 pm at Smith Rock State Park.

Additional Course Information

Field session will take place on 5/11, from 5-8 pm, at Smith Rock State Park. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the field session, and any parking fees associated. Instructor will provide specific meeting details in class prior to the field session.

Steve Giardini

Biography: Steve J. Giardini is a Bend-based professional outdoor photographer with over a decade of experience. Steve is an artist, educator, speaker, and photo workshop instructor. In addition to photography, his is resume includes 25+ years of community college teaching experience on a variety of subjects. Steve's photographs have been published in local, national and international magazines, and prints of his photos are on display in homes, businesses and art galleries around Oregon. Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
