31st Annual Maternal Child Nursing Symposium
Each year, the Maternal Child Nursing Symposium seeks toexpand our knowledge in women's, infant's and children's health care. The symposium features national and localspeakers presenting on current obstetric and pediatric topics. This year we have nationally known speakerand former AWHONN National President and member of the Board of Directors, RebeccaCypher, MSN, PNNP presenting on management of Category II Fetal Heart Rate(FHR) patterns, Complex Case Studies in EFM and Trauma in Pregnancy.
Other speakers include Dr. Curtis Dorn, Clinical AssociateProfessor Pediatrics and Neonatologist at Wesley Medical Center, speaking onLimits of Viability, identifying key factors in the wide variation in survivaldata for those 22 - 23 weeks gestation infants. Nationally, there is a huge focus on expanding and rethinking PostpartumCare. As nurses, we have known that momsand babies need extended care and follow up past the six weeks followingbirth. What does that look like will beshared by Dr. Taylor Bertschy, DO, FACOG and OBGYN Hospitalist at WesleyMedical Center.
