Course Detail: CE--WORLD - How Did we Get to the Point? Explaining the World of our Time
Join us as we discuss the emergence of certain values that explain the rise of a global dominance of Western ideas, institutions, technology, and culture over the past five centuries. What was it that allowed these aspects to develop, and what does the future hold for them in the next millennium? In a contemporary world of intolerance, strife, and rapid change, is the legacy of such values worth defending? Or, has there been a loss of faith in the civilization that we inherited from our ancestors? Documentary videos, informal lectures, and class discussion will form the core of the course.

Dr. John Dreifort, Professor of History, Wichita State University & Executive Secretary of the Wichita Committee on Foreign Policy
