Bird Feeder (A Flight Layover in Kansas)

Bird watching is an exciting yet soothing pastime. Students will build a bird feeder to attract colorful and delightful sounding birds. You will learn about what foods are preferred by birds appearing during various seasons and discuss the advantages of attracting certain birds to your yard to help control mosquitos, flies, gnats and other pests. At the end of class, you will take home a bird feeder YOU built to welcome various colorful feathered aviators to the airfield of your own yard. All equipment, tools and materials will be provided. (Students will use drills, paint and hand tools.)
