Upon conclusion of the class, the student will be able understand the basics of a heavy trucks pneumatic braking system, introduced to extracted data from heavy vehicle event data recorders and telematics systems, evaluate a heavy vehicle's ability to stop, perform kinetic energy equivalent speed estimates, reconstruct a heavy vehicle's axle weight, calculate a heavy vehicles dynamic rollover threshold, and follow the proper procedures for forensic post-crash inspections.
