Course Detail: LN102 - Value Stream Mapping

Value Stream Mapping is a team-based process improvement technique used to evaluate and document current processes and design and generate a plan for a desired future state. This in-depth course is designed for Lean Six Sigma coaches, managers and leaders seeking a more structured approach to transforming and improving processes in a wide range of businesses and organizations.

In this course you'll learn how to:

  • Develop a basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and processes.
  • Identify and use standardized value stream mapping icons and metrics.
  • Construct a current state map.
  • Identify wasteful activities and other areas for improvement.
  • Build a future state map and develop an improvement plan.
  • Involve team members and leaders in implementation.

This is a hybrid class, with self-paced work due prior to the first synchronous class session on 10/1/22 and in-person class sessions on 10/17, 10/24, and 10/31. Students should log into the class as soon as it is available to plan their work.

This class is in-person and all participants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (physical verification will be require prior to entry of first class) OR request a medical or religious exemption at least two weeks prior to the first day of class and if approved, show proof of negative test results within the last 72 hours prior to each class session.
