Course Detail: DE052 - Leading Your Board Towards Equity
Organizational power and leadership are steeped in white dominant culture.
Based on the work of Tema Okun, participants will learn more about how these white dominant norms show up within Board structure and create practices for a more inclusive and equitable Board of Directors.
At the end of this 2.5-hour workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define at least three of the characteristics of white dominant culture
- Name how two of the characteristics show up within their specific Board structure
- Identify at least one method of interruption to introduce into Board culture
- Begin planning the use of a new inclusive and equitable practice
